Award Process

The categories, entry forms, and rules are all available on the links below. The judging took place on September 1, 2009 at the offices of NK in Kansas City. A three judge panel was used to score all entries.

The judges were; Greg Olson, the immediate past President of the Colorado Chapter of the BMA, Kerry Benson, a Professor in Advertising at the University of Kansas and Myla Dixon, a board member of the Houston BMA. Both Greg and Myla have judged multiple BMA Chapter Awards programs across the country

The judging criteria were based on the submission form and other best practices from the BMA. The four categories were; Creativity, Production, Selling Proposition and Results. Each category could earn up to 25 with a total/ judges sheet of 100 points.

The judges score sheets were tabulated and the entry with the highest point total for each category was awarded the Fountain Award, unless a tie occurred, in which two Fountain Awards were awarded. The runner up in points total was awarded the Certificate of Merit Award.
